The National Theatre were looking for a programme for the final chapter in the award-winning 'Death of England' series, 'Closing Time'. The play explores family dynamics, systemic and ingrained racism, colonialism and cancel culture through the lens of one family trying to make ends meet in east London. Using the blackletter typography as a graphic device, the design foregrounded vibrant street photography by the talented Sylvia Ahmed, while also including a Polaroid-style collage that you might find on the fridge of a close relative.
